CANVAS JAZZ DAYS 2026

Canvas Lounge will be hosting "CANVAS JAZZ DAYS 2026" on Saturday, September 12th and Sunday, September 13th, 2026. Following last year's success, we will once again be offering live performances on a Steinway concert grand piano and jazz record DJ performances. Enjoy a special weekend surrounded by the soothing sounds of jazz in a comfortable indoor space, along with "NAKASU JAZZ 2026," which will be held in the Nakasu area during the same period.

Artist PICK UP: Toshihiko Tabe
INTRODUCE: Born in 1954 in Kokura, Kitakyushu City. He has been active in music in Kokura for 50 years. He started playing the flute in a brass band in junior high school, and in high school and university he became interested in jazz, rock, and pop music and participated in band activities. After graduating from university, he started playing the saxophone as a band boy at a cabaret in Kokura. Since then, he has been based in Kokura and has performed in Kyushu, Chugoku, and Shikoku, collaborating with many musicians both domestically and internationally. He also managed the legendary Kyushu jazz café "Abebe" for three years starting in 1980. From 2004 to the present, he has managed the live music venue "Big Band," using it as his base of operations while diligently practicing every day. He is well-versed in a wide range of music, but particularly admires Dexter Gordon and Cannonball Adderley. In 2026 he received the Kitakyushu City Cultural Merit Award.
