"Heartful Melody" CANVAS LOUNGE Concert 2026 - Regularly Held Events

The annual concert at CANVAS LOUNGE has been confirmed for 2026.

This year, the first phase will be in June, the second in September, the third in December, and the fourth in March 2027.
The program will include performances by string quartets, woodwinds, brass instruments, and more, with a selection of instruments and pieces that can be enjoyed by people of all ages, from children to adults.
Please enjoy a heartwarming time with everyone participating.

June 6, 2026 (Saturday): String Quartet

To commemorate the 5th anniversary of the opening of The Royal Park Canvas - Kyoto Nijo, we will be presenting a string quartet performance featuring violin, viola, and cello.
Enjoy the delicate ensemble and rich, resonant sound created by these four instruments.

Saya Ikeda
Graduated from Kyoto Horikawa Music High School in Kyoto City. After studying at Kyoto City University of Arts, completed a Master's program in String Instruments at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz in Austria.
Finalist in the string instrument division of the 14th Osaka International Music Competition. Second prize winner in the 20th Kumagusu no Sato Music Competition. Encouragement Award winner in the string instrument division of the 16th Japan Performer Competition. First prize winner in the 4th King's Peak International Musik Competition. Studied violin under the late Naomi Ishida, Reiko Tachibana, the late Nobu Wakabayashi, Akiko Ikegawa, Takashi Izumihara, and Eszter Haffner.

Konishi Karin
She graduated from the Faculty of Music at Kyoto City University of Arts and completed her Master's degree at the Graduate School of Music at the same university. She performed at the 43rd Kyoto City University of Arts Faculty of Music Graduation Concert. She won 3rd prize in the ensemble division at the 18th Changjiang Cup International Music Competition. She also won 3rd prize in the ensemble division at the 16th Osaka International Music Competition. She won 1st prize at the 3rd Munetsugu Hall String Quartet Competition, and simultaneously received the Haydn Prize. She studied violin with Megumi Kozuki, Misako Kameda, and Yasushi Toyoshima, viola with Koichi Komine, and chamber music with Etsuko Nakajima and Shohei Uemori.

Nao Egawa
She graduated from the Faculty of Music at Kyoto City University of Arts, and completed the Master's program at the Graduate School of Music, Kyoto City University of Arts, and the training program at the Toho Orchestra Academy. She won first prize at the 3rd Munetsugu Hall String Quartet Competition, along with the Haydn Prize. She also received the Excellence Award and the Kobe Shimbun Award at the 22nd KOBE International Music Competition. She was a recipient of the Aoyama Foundation Scholarship in 2015.

Mutsuhiro Yamauchi
She completed her Master's degree in Music at the Kyoto City University of Arts Graduate School. She has studied with Yui Arai, Tetsuyuki Uno, and Kaeko Mukaiyama, and chamber music with Reiko Morita. She won the Grand Prize and the Kobe Mayor's Prize at the 27th KOBE International Music Competition, and 3rd place in Age-G at the 25th Osaka International Music Competition.
Cellist of the Kyoto Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra. Koshino Ruby Artist. Instructor at the Fukui Junior String Ensemble Seminar. Currently based in Kansai and Fukui, she is active in orchestral and chamber music, while also teaching younger generations.
