Started contract management of "Kyo no Ondokoro" a lodging facility utilizing a Kyoto townhouse

We have begun operating "Kyo no Ondokoro" a lodging facility utilizing a Kyoto machiya townhouse developed by Wacoal Corporation, from Friday, September 1, 2023.
"Kyo no Ondokoro" was launched by Wacoal in April 2018 as a project to preserve and utilize Kyoto machiya townhouses, and currently has seven buildings in locations convenient for sightseeing in Kyoto City. With inbound demand expected to increase and the tourism industry expected to recover in the future, with the aim of further improving customer service, the hotel will be run primarily by "The Royal Park Hotel Iconic Kyoto," which is run by Royal Park Hotels, and will handle customer support from Kyomachiya reservations to check-in, as well as various Accommodation Plan and sales promotion, in a manner that inherits Wacoal's spirit and the local hospitality that Royal Park Royal Park Hotels has cultivated.
[About "Kyo no Ondokoro"]
Wacoal's "Kyo no Ondokoro" project was launched in April 2018 as a project to pass on Kyomachiya to the next generation and preserve them for the future, in response to concerns about the current situation in which Kyomachiya, a symbol of Kyoto's historic streets, are being demolished one after another due to aging and a lack of successors. The project aims to ensure that Kyomachiya, built before 1950 using traditional construction methods, can be passed down to future generations.
Currently, we have seven buildings in operation: Kamaza Nijo, Miyukimachi Ebisugawa, Fuyacho Nijo, Nishijin Bettei, Gosho Nishi, Marutamachi, and Takeyamachi.
