The Gion Festival, the most vibrant time of summer in Kyoto. Enjoy the Yamahoko procession, the climax of the pre-festival, from an open terrace overlooking Oike Street.
At THE OIKE TERRACE, the main dining room of The Royal Park Hotel Iconic Kyoto, we have prepared a special lunch course exclusively for this day.

  • Experience the atmosphere up close: Soft sunlight streams into the glass-walled restaurant. Witness the dazzling floats passing by and hear the traditional music. Enjoy a refined meal in a cool and refreshing space while feeling the excitement of the festival firsthand.
  • A striking contrast of colors: The vibrant green of the street trees contrasts beautifully with the dignified decorations of the floats, creating a breathtaking scene. It is a luxurious borrowed landscape that is only permitted in this place, at this time.

A marriage of Kyoto's summer and carefully selected ingredients.
The cuisine is a full course meal that expresses the essence of summer in Kyoto, based on French sensibilities and creatively elevating ingredients that symbolize Kyoto's summer.

  • Fish Dish: Fried Pike Conger and Abalone with Ravigote Sauce -Enjoy seasonal pike conger and abalone with a rich ocean aroma, both encased in a light and crispy batter. The tangy ravigote sauce, made with colorful vegetables, beautifully enhances the flavors of the ingredients.
  • Meat Dish: Roasted Omi Duck Breast with Green Pepper Sauce - The rich and flavorful Omi duck is slowly roasted to perfection. The spicy green pepper sauce enhances the sweetness of the meat, leaving a lasting impression.
