RAKUGO experience in English - Traditional Japanese comic monologue... and more! -
Event to enjoy rakugo in English, "Rakugo experience in English ~ Rakugo in English ~" is currently being held at CANVAS Lounge.
Rakugo is a traditional Japanese performing art with a history of around 400 years. It is a performance performed by a single storyteller. The only props used are a folding fan and a hand towel, and the story's movements and facial expressions stimulate the imagination, creating a fascinating story.
We will be welcoming Sayohime, who has 21 years of experience in English Rakugo. Please enjoy "RAKUGO" even if you can only listen to it in English, or if you can just enjoy the gestures and facial expressions.

Performer: Sayohime
Influenced by the late Rakugo storyteller Katsura Shijaku, he aspired to become an English Rakugo performer. In 2002, he met Masaaki Yamamoto, the late producer of HOE International English School, who worked with Mr. Edajaku to develop and popularize English rakugo. After gaining oral experience in various parts of Japan and overseas (New York and San Francisco in the United States, New Zealand), she began working as a freelancer in 2008. Many oral presentations including inbound.
